# Getting Access

> Request an API key to start building with donate.gg

The donate.gg Developer API is currently in closed access. We review each application and provision API keys manually.

## What to include

To help us review your application quickly, include:

* What product or project you're building
* How you plan to use the API (charity browsing, donation configs, on-chain integration, etc.)
* Your expected usage volume
* A link to your site or project if available

## After you're approved

Once approved, you'll receive your API key. This key is used to authenticate all API requests. Keep it secret and never expose it client-side.

  API keys are issued per developer account. If you need multiple keys or have team members who need access, mention it in your application.
